Peter Rocke, a former chairman of the Port of Melbourne Authority, passed away last week.
He served as chairman from 1987/88 to 1988/89. This was a period of trade growth at the port of Melbourne, particularly in containerised cargo. It was also a time of change. Reform and restructure of the waterfront industry began and Swanson and Webb docks were being developed.
VPCM extends its sympathy to Peter’s family.
Note: Port of Melbourne Authority was a predecessor organisation of Victorian Ports Corporation (Melbourne).
